INTENSITY
There are cars on one side and traffic on the other,
And you try to find enough space.
Tires are whining against the road,
And motors are growling proudly.
Horns blare loudly to show impatience,
And engines rev up and down.
You can never be sure that the two-ton monster
Sees you, respects you and cares.
You put your faith in the rules of the road,
And pretend you are one of them.
If ever in doubt you take the lane,
So that monster can’t get beside you.
For if it does and the space disappears,
You are bound to have a bad day.
