REST DAY

I was awakened today by many birds
Singing to welcome the day.
The light of morning is somewhat obscure,
The overcast is crowding the sky.
Rain is the forecast, and it will surely come,
It will be pleasant to watch not from the saddle.
The memories of rollers are sweetening slightly,
And the headwinds seem just a dream.
I think the time will come so soon,
When the bike will be home again.
When the Lewis and Clark Trail will call us away,
Back on the river again.
