TUGGING AT MY SOUL

I have never been to a place in my life

That I wouldn't visit again.
When we entered Cairo on our bike
There were strange vibrations in the air.
It is a city so poor - People discouraged
Nothing seems to be done right.
Even the best is very tarnished,
And the organization is ramshackle.
You ride through the town expecting more,
And you're only faced with disappointment.
Where the great rivers meet
Good things should abound,
But not in Cairo, Illinois.
The experience is so sad,
And the impact so profound,
I want the the bike to take me away.
The city is tugging at my very soul -
I won't be back again!
