JUXTAPOSITION

The mountain called Hood, and the Columbia Gorge
Are each great wonders themselves.
But when nature decides to provide juxtaposition,
A wonderful treat's in store.
That happened today, as we were riding toward The Dalles,
And it is a shame is lasted not long.
We were sorry we weren't on our trusty bike,
But instead were in a truck.
Had we been riding as we usually are,
The sight would have lived much longer.
As it was, it was great, and tickled the spine,
But on the bike it would have been a portrait!
Just imagaine the sight of an inverted cone,
Covered still with the winter's snow -
Nestled gently between some cliffs and hills -
Floating, apparently, on the river Columbia.
