The Columbia River ran right to the right of the road we took leaving the Holiday Inn Express.

Eventually Portland International Airport was on our left. I missed getting shots of the two flights that took off and the one flight that landed.

As we approached NE 13th Ave. for our first left turn, these floating homes were on the right.

Several homes in the Northeast section had perennial gardens instead of lawns.

This is a shot of Kenna Hall on the University of Portland campus. The Air Force ROTC unit is housed in the basement. My son spent four years here graduating with a Civil Engineering degree.

The main entrance to to University of Portland campus is just to the North of Kenna.

We were crossing the Broadway Bridge when I took this shot of the 405 bridge over the Willamette.

Oak woodlands are fairly common heading north on Hwy 30.

The coyote had just gotten up from a morning nap when I spotted it lumbering through the tall grass.

This farm was one of a number along the highway today.

The nuclear power plant has a park between it and Hwy 30.

Just to the north of where this photo stops, I saw a kingfisher dart off his branch, into the water and back out with lunch.

Another riparian section off to the right of Hwy 30.

Walking the tandem across the Longview, Lewis and Clark Bridge limited what photos I was able to take. This tugboat passed beneath us before we made it to the Washington side.
