When we got up this morning, and met at breakfast, the first topic was how we felt. LaValle said she was good to go, but Ron said he was worried. His knee was sore and very stiff, so he was afraid of further injury, since we faced a lot of hills between Marshall and Kansas City. We decided to SAG once again, and Ron called his daughter for a ride. Ron's son-in-law, Eric Elman, picked us up in Marshall, and we were soon in the Elman home. It was a SAG of about 100 miles, and pained us, but it was the right thing to do.

We spent the day entertaining Ron's grandchildren, Ron treating his knee and LaValle going to the doctor about her calf. The diagnosis on the calf was very promising - shin splints - so the morale of the Team really went up. We had a nice dinner, and headed for our motel - we couldn't stay with the Elman's, since they are in the process of packing and moving to Bermuda.

It was a good rest day, and the physical problems seem to be responding to the treatment. We are encouraged.

Note from LaValle... Dr. Sweeney in Santa Rosa had given me great advice about a week ago when I called for help. Kaiser's phone in call line really is good and Michael Sweeney is tops!!!
